The Commlite Adapter With the Canon EF 24-105mm f/4 L-Series Lens. There’s a cheaper version available too but I didn’t see enough reviews to make an informed decision on that one. 0. 0.
Although it is soft wide open, the Canon EF 50mm f/1.4 USM Lens is sharp at f/2 and very sharp when stopped down to f/2.8 or narrower. Corners are soft until f/2 for 1.6x FOVCF bodies and f/2.8 on full frame bodies. Strong halation is present at f/1.4 (a soft, dreamy look) with some CA (Chromatic Aberration).

Blending a favored wide-angle focal length with a bright maximum aperture, the EF 24mm f/1.4L II USM is a Canon L-series lens characterized by a robust physical construction and sophisticated optical design.
All in all, the 24/1.4 always gives punchy, contrasty images at every aperture. This is the advantage of aspherical optics: you don't lose contrast from spherical aberration at f/1.4. The only optical price you pay for the fast f/1.4 speed is slightly softer corners at the larger apertures. Rear, Canon FD 24mm f/1.4. enlarge. Recommendations top
Canon's sensor technology may have lagged behind in recent years, but even their legacy glass remains top tier: the 35mm f/1.4 cleanly demonstrates why Canon is still top dog in the photography industry. Autofocus. Autofocus performance was good with the EF 400 DO f4. The focal length of 400mm is a moderate one in the world of super-telephoto lenses, and the field of view at that focal length is not so narrow that initial pick-up of subjects, especially moving ones, is too difficult with this lens.
